العلق
AL-ALAQ
Take one verse, and stay with it as long as you wish. There is no need to reach the end.
Offered with humility. Recitation by Abdul Basit Abdus Samad or Mishary Rashid al-Afasy, as you choose. The first five verses of this surah were the first revelation, in the cave of Hira, as narrated by Aisha, may God be pleased with her, in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim; the account of the one who forbade the prayer is recorded in Sahih Muslim. The final verse is a verse of prostration. The notes are read in a soft voice named Nora, used only for the English, never for the Quran.
